Outdoor shuffleboard Objective

Outdoor shuffleboard – The objective of shuffleboard is to score more points than your opponent by sliding your weights into the scoring areas at the opposite end of the court.

Outdoor shuffleboard Setup

The shuffleboard court is a long, narrow rectangular surface with a triangle-shaped scoring area at each end. The court is divided into five scoring zones: 10 points, 8 points, 7 points, 6 points, and 5 points. There is also a 10-off area at the opposite end of the court from the scoring areas.

Starting the Game

To start the game, players flip a coin to decide who goes first. The winner of the coin toss chooses the color of their weights (yellow or black). The other player then chooses the remaining color.

Scoring occurs after all eight weights have been played. Players score points for each weight that is entirely within one of the scoring zones. Weights that are touching the outside lines of a scoring zone do not count points. Weights that are in the 10-off area deduct 10 points from the player’s score.

Points are scored based on where the disks come to rest within the scoring triangle or 10-off area. The scoring areas are as follows: outdoor shuffleboard

  • 10-point area: 10 points
  • 8-point area: 8 points
  • 7-point area: 7 points

Winning the Game
